I have been looking at this photo of Buxton for 20-30 years, but I hadn't studied it closely until recently. It didn't dawn on me where exactly these buildings were located until I noticed some railroad tracks in the middle of the left side of the photo. I am sure the building behind the barn is the railraod warehouse whose ruins are still remaining in the Buxton Park area. The photo is looking westward in the direction of the Buxton Cemetery. The funeral procession is walking north on the path (road) towards the north end entrance to Buxton. The procession on the path would have just walked between the White House Hotel and the Company Store (not in the photo) located in downtown Buxton. The land in the photo is a portion of the 5 acres of land that Jim Kreegel leased to the Monroe County Historical Society for preserving Buxton History.
