This passenger train was enroute to Belle Plaine in the summer of 1913. South Line passenger trains invariably consisted of a coach and combine, led by a 4-4-0 American locomotive. In later years, gas-electric motor cars replaced the "South Iowa Passenger," and ultimately, mixed trains provided the service.
